8. How is my money protected?
Transfergratis is licensed as a Money Services Business, which means we are allowed to offer our customers certain financial services, such as money transfers. We are a company registered in Canada under company number 1301769-9, registered with FINTRAC under no. 21138662.
9. Why do you need a mobile phone number and email address for my recipient?
We use the recipient’s mobile phone number and email address to inform them of the progress of the transfer and to make the mobile money deposit with the phone number if necessary. Providing the recipient’s email address is optional. The sender and recipient are notified when the transfer is complete.
10. Why do I need to provide an ID?
We are required by law to carry out these checks. To ensure the security of the Transfergratis service, we use a government-issued photo ID to confirm the identity of the sender of the money.
11. What information do I need from my recipient for bank transfers to Cameroon?
– Full name. To avoid any delays, the recipient’s name must match exactly the name on their bank statement.
– Account details. We need your recipient’s (1) branch name, (2) bank code, (3) branch code, and (4) account number, usually 12-14 digits.
– Sending reason. To indicate whether it is “support from family or friends”, “purchase of services”, “payment for property”, or “sending funds to yourself”.
– Email (optional). We use this to send an email to your recipient with the transaction details.
Please ensure that all of your recipient’s details are correct. Once you have completed your transaction, it is difficult for us to change or stop the transfer, although we will always do our best to do so.
