Essential Supporting Documents Based on Your Situation

The required documents for a CNI application vary depending on why you’re applying. It’s crucial to gather all the necessary papers to avoid any delays.

For an Expired CNI

Has your CNI expired? Here’s what you’ll need:

 – A photocopy of your birth certificate (or birth extract, supplementary judgment, or family booklet) signed by the competent authorities.

 – Your expired National Identity Card.

 – If you are a married woman, a photocopy of your marriage certificate.

 – If applicable, a document proving your profession.

For a First-Time CNI Application

Are you applying for your very first CNI? Prepare the following:

 – A certified true copy of your birth certificate (or birth extract, supplementary judgment, or family booklet) signed by the competent authorities.

 – If you are a married woman, a certified true copy of your marriage certificate.

 – If applicable, a document proving your profession.

 – A certificate of nationality signed by the President of the Court of First Instance where you are applying for the CNI.

In Case of Loss, Theft, or Damage

If your CNI has been lost, stolen, or damaged, you’ll need to provide:

 – A declaration of loss, theft, or damage certificate issued by any National Security Service. This certificate must include your full name, date and place of birth, parentage, as well as the number and reference of the identification post that issued the lost, stolen, or damaged card.

 – A copy of the lost, stolen, or damaged National Identity Card.

 – A copy of your birth certificate (or birth extract, supplementary judgment, or family booklet) signed by the competent authorities.

For Rectification or Change of Name

Do you want to correct information on your CNI or change your name? Your application will include:

 – A certified true copy of your birth certificate (or birth extract, supplementary judgment, or family booklet) signed by the competent authorities.

 – A certified true copy of the decree authorizing the name change or rectification.

 – If you are a married woman, a certified true copy of your marriage certificate or an authenticated copy of the divorce decree, if applicable.

 – If applicable, a document proving your profession.

In Case of Change of Filiation

If a judgment has established a change in filiation, you’ll need to present:

 – The authenticated extract of the judgment that established the change in filiation.

 – Your old National Identity Card.

 – If applicable, a document proving your profession.

For Reintegration Cases

If you are in a reintegration case, your application must include:

 – A certified true copy of your birth certificate (or birth extract, supplementary judgment, or family booklet) signed by the competent authorities.

 – A certified true copy of the reintegration decree.

 – If you are a married woman, a certified true copy of your marriage certificate.

 – If applicable, a document proving your profession.

 – A special criminal record certificate (bulletin n°3).

For Naturalized Foreigners

Foreigners who have obtained Cameroonian nationality will need to provide:

 – A certified true copy of your birth certificate.

 – A certified true copy of the naturalization decree.

 – If you are a married woman, a certified true copy of your marriage certificate.

 – If applicable, a document proving your profession.

 – A special criminal record certificate (bulletin n°3).

Application Fees

Regardless of the type of application, the fee is 10,000 XAF.
